THE OAK

A Story Rooted In Nature

Rocket West invites us to slow down, look more closely, and see our own lives differently.

What if Nature Could Teach Us How to Live?

The Oak

When Rocket West’s daughter, Oak, arrived five weeks premature, motherhood began with an experience she could not control.  In the difficult months that followed, fear, guilt, and depression forced her to reconsider what strength really meant.

Then nature began to speak differently.

An oak tree taught her resilience.

A rose taught her the necessity of rest.

An orchid revealed the strength found in connection.

A chrystanthemum taught her that growth has its own timing.

The Oak invites readers to look again at the natural world, and through it, at their own lives.

For anyone who has ever felt behind, exhausted, uncertain, disconnected, or caught in a season they didn’t choose, this is a reminder that growth is not always visible, resilience doesn’t mean never bending, and a slow season in not an empty one.

Sometimes the roots are growing long before the branches begin to show.

What season are you in?
